This project was commissioned by the Italian magazine Il Reportage

Walking by the woods of Terzigno and Chiaiano makes you think about anything except you’re standing on a dump.

Nature is overwhelming, a revelation of how those places looked like for centuries and how they should be.

It’s surreal to know that a few meters below you, inside the old tuff quarries or the black volcanic soil, are crammed all Naples’ wastes.

This body of work was made in parallel between the dump sites of Chiaiano and Terzigno, both placed inside protected game reserves, which are sadly known for the legal and illegal garbage disposal in Campania.

These places and their unexpressed potential are symbols of a problem which took root in our territories not as a temporary emergency but as part of the ordinary.
