Bahar Habibi - Whispers Will become Eternal
'Whispers Will become Eternal' is an ongoing project based on Habibi's experiences of contemporary Iran.In her trips back to 'motherland', she uses the camera to record and take note of this very much known yet uncannily unfamiliar place. This project has to do with family, belonging, identity, history, economy and everydayness. Her pieces are concerned with contemporary emblems of movement, displacement, and questioning ideas around cultural heritage, nationality and identity. Her work examines the systems that underpin her daily life such as everyday objects, routines, events and experiences, and the relationship they form to a larger social context. Habibi often seeks to reveal the ideologies that exist within the fabric of everyday life, by making the threads and patterns explicit within a single frame.
